Premier Medical Group is a physician owned practice that can trace its origin to 1950. Prior to our present name, the entity was called Physicians Affiliated Care. September 2019, we expanded our services and moved into a new office building. We then changed the name to reflect our commitment to being a leading healthcare provider. We provide comprehensive primary care to adult patients in Owensboro and surrounding counties. Our providers also have a special interest in the treatment of diabetes, thyroid disorders and other endocrinology conditions. Divisions of our practice are Premier Aesthetics and Premier Lab.
Dr. Buchanan is the President of our group. He joined the practice in 1992. He has a Doctor of Medicine degree with honors from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine where he also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy and Physiology degree. He completed his internal medicine fellowship and residency at Northwestern University Hospitals in Chicago, as well as his endocrinology fellowship at Hines Veterans Administration Hospital in Hines, IL. Dr. Buchanan is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Louisville and part of the clinical faculty at the University of Kentucky and Vanderbilt University. He has been published in over 35 clinical publications and is board certified.
Ms. Robertson joined the practice in 2011. She has a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in nursing from the University of Southern Indiana. She has previously worked in the emergency departments at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY and in Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She has also worked at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI. Ms. Robertson has served as an adjunct faculty member at Owensboro Community and Technical College in Owensboro. She is pursuing her Doctorate degree in nursing and is board certified.
Ms. Rogers joined the practice in 2015. She received her Bachelors degree in nursing from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY and her Masters degree in nursing from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. Ms. Rogers has worked at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in the cardiac stepdown unit, critical care unit, and open heart recovery. She worked at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in the medical/surgical unit. She is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners Nurse-Midwives and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Mr. Finley works exclusively with Dr. Buchanan at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He joined the practice in 2016. He graduated with honors from Bethel University in Paris, TN, with a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies. He also graduated with a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
Natali leads our Premier Aesthetics division. She joined us in 2014. She is a licensed cosmetologist and registered nurse. She previously worked at Creative Corner Hairstyling in Philpot, KY and at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Her background makes her uniquely qualified to recommend and administer treatment plans for the skin. She is a certified injector.
Ms. Thiesse joined our group in 2019. She assists Dr. Buchanan with inpatient care at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She received a Bachelors degree in nursing from Concordia University in River Forest, IL, and a Masters degree in nursing from Loyola University in Chicago. Ms. Thiesse is a certified Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, and has a specialty in wound care. She has worked for Loyola University Health Systems in the liver and heart transplant areas, wound care clinic, and emergency department. Ms. Thiesse has presented academic posters in wound treatment and prevention. She is a member of several professional organizations.
Dr. Blue joined our practice in late 2020. She has a Bachelors degree in nursing from Murray State University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner from Western Kentucky University. Her clinical research includes improving hydration in long term care. Dr. Blue has previously worked in the Medical Renal Care Center at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, IN; long term care at Breckinridge Place, Morganfield, KY; and, outpatient primary care at Hometown Care, Dixon, KY. She was an instructor at Madisonville Community College and Hopkins County School System. She is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Blue provides outpatient primary care services at our Burlew Boulevard location.
